Note. Dr Morgenbesser’s data-set is based upon his review of media sources (i.e. newspapers, TV websites, TV broadcasts) for any type of gun crime incident. The official dataset is based upon reports to the State DCJS (Division of Criminal Justice Services), within the “Uniform Crime/Incident Based Reporting Systems”, by the City of Albany-Police Department.
For the official dataset, “Firearm” crime is a subset of “Violent” Crime reported by the Police Department-City of Albany to State DCJS.
