Lincoln Park In Bloom

A photo tour of the South End’s treasure in April

When springtime comes to Lincoln Park, the trees burst forth with flowers of white, yellow, red and pink. Pale green appears as grass and early leaves, beginning to photosynthesize in the bright sun.

Those of us in the know wait all winter for the park to wake up, anticipating the event like a star performance. The bloom lasts for a couple of weeks, and then the petals fall on the grass. Then all is green, a color which grows deeper and darker as spring turns into summer.

You can keep your trampled over Washington Park. We like our park all year round.
